地元のメッセンジャー、コリーが作るDank bagを注文しに彼の作業場へ行った。

メッセンジャーが作る超タフなバッグパック。１００％カスタムメードだから色と形を決めた。

彼は１０年間現役でメッセンジャーをやっていて、５年連続でサイクルメッセンジャー世界大会に出場している。

でも今年の東京大会は行けなくて、少し残念がっていた。

The other day, I met Cory, maker of Dank bags, to order a back pack.

They’re 100% custom, so I was telling him the type and colors I wanted.

I need something rough and tough.

He’s also a major messenger himself – he’s been a messenger for 10 years and has been to the CMWC (Cycle Messenger World Championship) 5 times.

He wasn’t able to go to the championship this year in Japan, though.

コリーの仕事場の隣はモービウスっていう自転車屋がある。自転車屋なのに４階にある。

入り口は裏通りにあって、目立った看板もなく、知る人ぞ知る自転車屋だ。

ここはいつもメッセンジャーたちのたまり場になっていて、この日も仕事を終えたメッセンジャーがビールを飲みながらテーブルサッカーを楽しんでいた。

俺も仲間に入れてもらって、何本かビールを飲んだ。超面白かった。

His workshop is an old building downtown, and there is a bike shop, Mobius on the same floor.

Mobius is pretty populer with messengers, so there were some messengers chiling in there when I went there in the Friday night.

I played foosball with them over a few beer, and got totally destroyed.

Still though, it was a good time.
